Module 8 Drawing
1. What was it like using your hand as subject matter for a drawing?
It was pretty hard to use my hand as the subject matter because I kept moving. What I did was I looked up a picture of hands and tried to put my hands like the picture that way when I moved my hands I still had something to go off of.
2. What media did you select - pencil or charcoal? Why?
I selected the pencil because it was the only thing I had at the moment.
3. How did it feel to create a drawing with your non-dominant hand?
I felt good, I am ambidextrous, so it was a little easier to draw with my left hand. I did struggle a little draking my hands, the palm part. I felt like I made my palms look smaller than what they are in reality.
4. Compare and contrast your final drawings. Do you think they are successful studies?
I feel like there really isn't much of a difference between my drawings. I took many art classes during highschool which helped with my drawing skills. I think there are unsuccessful studies because I am ambidextrous and have taken art classes for 4 years which isn't the same as someone who can't write with both hands or who doesn't have art experience.
5. Would you consider using your non-dominant hand to create artwork in the future?
Yes I would, I've learned that for some reason when I am drawing an abstract drawing I am better at drawing with my left hand but when drawing something realistic I am better with my right hand.
