Module #4 Art materials

Kimberlin Gomez
Module #4

1. Discuss what you thought about creating the Value Scale and Color Wheel.
I liked creating both the value scale and color wheel, I thought it was a different assignment that what we regularly do. And was a good change from watching videos and answering questions like the usual homework. I would like to do more work such as this.

2. Which media did you enjoy working with the best and why?
I enjoyed working with acrylic paint, just because I don't use it alot. I enjoyed combining primary colors to create secondary colors.

3. What was the most important discovery in the creation of these studies?
I think the most important discovery is that art is never going to be the exact same. For example my color range chart, I did a color range 5 times and though the levels of color were very similar none of them were ever the same.

4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos for this project? What is your opinion of the videos?
The most important information I learned from watching these videos would have to be how to use the materials. While watching the color range video, I learned how to use my pencil to get the perfect shade of color that I want. If I was to use my pencil normally as if I was writing something, I wouldn't have gotten the same results of shading. I loved the pencil shading video, I thought it was informative and showed me exactly how to create my shade chart. But the primary color theory 2, video I didn't like. I didn't like that it wasnt that informative and it didn't really give me a clear format of how I should place my colors. To me the color placement was disorganized and didn't make sense.
