Module 3
The science of color perception

1. Describe Color and its effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting.
The world is full of different colors of all different tones. These colors bring out different emotions and different visual perception. Color is an illusion, which derives from the stimulation of photoreceptors.   The symbolization of the color red is of energy, strength, power and determination. Green means growth, harmony and safety, the color green in the advertisement gives the reader a sense of growth and hope of overcoming their obstacles. The color white means innocence, wholeness and completion

2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?
Meghan Sims, explained the way that cones react to different colors, tones and shades. Meghan Sims explains how every single color to her is seen as different shades of grades, but that because of the different shades of gray she can differentiate which color it is. This interests me because it's a good explanation of being color blind. Just because you're color blind doesn't mean you cant see the world in color, because if you can determine the relation of shades to the name of the color then you can learn which shades is what color.

3. In the video, what made the biggest impression on you in regards to color and Why?
The biggest impression that I had in regards to color in the video was the effect the color red can have on our emotions, feelings and actions. The color red can make us react very differently than the color white. The color red is a color that triggers violence in our minds, its scientifically proven that if your color is painted red you are more than likely to become a more violent person. The color white brings peace, calmness and tranquility. I found this interesting because when you actually think about it colors have the power to change your emotions.
